A post-Brexit coffee tastes different
Jun 25th, 2016 | By Roger EllmanI am enjoying an espresso at the ultimate specialist cafe serving perfect coffee in Bath, post-referendum UK.
It tastes different because the blend of coffee, it’s origin, changed, not because of the vote.
This one is from Panama.
Perhaps we still accept shipments from Panama, perhaps Panama likes us, perhaps coffee is immune to the breezes and directions of politics.
Perhaps – here we go, theories abound these days – Panama needs all the trade I can get for it’s new canal which opened last week. It cost multiple billions to build and now it’s ready world trade is slowing.
Another sip…delicious!
